University Radiology Vein Center
For Treatment of Vein Disease

Patients can get relief from painful varicose veins and unsightly spider veins at our state-of-the-art Vein Center located in Warren, NJ. Our board-certified vascular interventional radiologists offer the most advanced vein treatments to help our patients look and feel better.

In patients with venous insufficiency, blood pools in the leg veins because the veins are unable to properly pump blood from the feet up toward the heart. This pooling of blood increases pressure in those veins, which can result in symptoms such as pain, burning, throbbing, swelling, leg fatigue, rashes and ankle ulcers. It also can result in the appearance of varicose and spider veins.

Venous insufficiency treatment may first be aimed at relieving symptoms with the use of compression stockings for varicose veins. These are specialized stockings that apply high pressure to the feet and ankles and less pressure to the knees and thighs. In doing so, they increase the return of blood to the heart and prevent the pooling of blood in the veins of the feet and legs. While graduated compression stockings can improve symptoms such as varicose vein pain and slow the progression of disease, they will not improve the appearance of the leg.

For a better cosmetic result, and more lasting improvement of symptoms, the board-certified interventional radiologists at UR Vein Center offer a range of minimally invasive therapies.
